Part-Time/Seasonal (Winter Sports Season) Carolina Day School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Middle School Boys Assistant Basketball Coach to join our athletics team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Varsity Head Coach to support and enhance all aspects of the Boys Basketball program, with a focus on strategy, player development, and program culture. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the game of basketball and values building meaningful relationships with student-athletes. This Coach will play a key role in shaping the daily execution and long-term vision of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Help lead and organize all aspects of the middle school boys basketball program. Plan and run effective practice sessions, ensuring skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Maintain open and effective communication with players, assistant coaches, and parents. Create a positive, encouraging team environment that fosters growth and confidence. Assess individual player skills and work on improving their technical abilities. Work with assistant coaches and any other staff involved in the program to ensure a cohesive coaching approach.
Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience or high-level playing experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to connect with and motivate student-athletes Demonstrated ability to contribute to a team-oriented coaching staff Passion for the game of basketball and a strong commitment to character development High energy, positive attitude, and a growth mindset
