The ideal candidate is committed to developing student-athletes through high-quality instruction, leadership, and character formation, while fostering a competitive and inclusive team environment. This is a key leadership role within our athletics department and provides an exciting opportunity to shape a growing program.

Responsibilities:

Plan and lead all practices with a focus on skill development, team strategy, and fitness. Oversee game-day preparation, including lineups, rotations, and in-game decision-making. Provide individualized coaching and feedback to support player growth and confidence. Manage team logistics, including transportation, scheduling, and communication with families and school staff. Maintain and inventory team equipment, uniforms, and training gear. Create a team culture that reflects Cristo Rey’s mission and values—emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic success. Collaborate with the Athletic Director on program development, athlete eligibility, and league compliance. Organize and lead practices, team meetings, and player development opportunities. Communicate effectively and consistently with student-athletes, families, and school administration. Ensure the safety and well-being of all players and uphold league and school policies at all times.

Qualifications:

Previous coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level required. Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, rules, and competitive strategy. Proven ability to lead and motivate student-athletes. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain). Experience managing team equipment and logistics. Commitment to Cristo Rey’s mission of college readiness and holistic student development. Valid driver’s license required (for team transportation needs).
