Full Job Description About Stokes United FC:

Stokes United FC is a growing competitive youth soccer club serving players and families throughout Stokes County and the surrounding areas. We are committed to offering high-quality coaching, player development, and a supportive club culture that prioritizes integrity, effort, and respect for the game. Our Classic-level program provides players the opportunity to train and compete at a high level while staying rooted in their local community. We are currently seeking dedicated and passionate Classic Soccer Coaches (boys’ and girls’ teams) for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. Coaches will work with teams competing in NCYSA-sanctioned leagues and events, supporting player development on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:
Player Development:

Foster a positive, team-oriented culture that promotes individual growth and collective success. Emphasize technical, tactical, physical, and mental development appropriate to age and skill level.

Training and Coaching:

Plan and lead two to three training sessions per week based on the club’s development framework. Prepare and coach weekend matches, tournaments, and league play. Align training methodology with club philosophy and best practices for youth development.

Match Preparation & In-Game Management:

Prepare players for competition through purposeful training and match-specific tactical instruction. Provide clear and constructive in-game feedback to support player learning and performance.

Player Assessment & Feedback:

Evaluate players regularly to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and potential for advancement. Work with players and families to communicate goals, progress, and expectations throughout the season.

Communication & Leadership:

Maintain clear, professional communication with players, families, and club leadership. Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating leadership, integrity, and sportsmanship.

Club Engagement:

Support club-wide events such as tryouts, camps, and coach meetings. Assist with player identification at tryouts as needed. Use team management platforms (e.g.,TeamSnap or comparable software) to share schedules, and communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

L icensing: USSF Grassroots license(s) preferred. Coaches without current licenses must be willing to begin the licensing process within their first season (club support available).

Coaching Experience:

Some experience coaching or playing at a competitive level is helpful but not required. Enthusiastic, reliable, and teachable individuals are encouraged to apply.

Soccer Knowledge:

Strong understanding of the youth soccer landscape, player development principles, and coaching best practices.

Soft Skills:

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to motivate and relate to players and families.

Technology:

Comfortable using digital tools to manage schedules, communicate with teams, and analyze video.

Compliance:

Must pass background check and meet all NCYSA/club risk management standards.
