Job Description
Director of Basketball Operations 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 833 Montlieu Ave, High Point, NC 27262 High Point University’s Athletic Department Director of Basketball Operations position is responsible for assisting the men’s basketball coaching staff with daily team operations and functions including travel/food, practice set-up, scheduling, communication to players, and academic monitoring. Assist the Head Coach with scheduling of community and national events, speaking engagements, and appearances. Provide support to assistant coaches in the execution of scheduling, scout preparation, film review, practice preparation, and recruiting activities. Hires, supervises and trains student managers for their role and function within the Men’s Basketball program. Coordinates and manages the budget expenditures and reconciliations for the sport program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience and Training:
Bachelor’s degree required in Communications, Multimedia, Sports Management or related field. A minimum of three years’ experience in basketball or video production setting, preferably NCAA Division I. Basketball playing, managing and/or coaching experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of college basketball, filming and video editing. Ability to recognize basketball plays and situations in order to edit video for coaches and players. Knowledge of video equipment and editing software such as XOS, Synergy or a similar product. Ability to present this information to the team when necessary utilizing clear oral and written communication. Must be able to attract, hire and supervise student managers.
Physical Requirements:
