Teaching Full Job Description Position Summary:
Asheboro High School is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to serve as our Head Baseball Coach. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive baseball program that emphasizes academic achievement, athletic excellence, teamwork, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, plan, and implement a comprehensive baseball program for student-athletes grades 9-12. Teach the fundamentals of baseball, including skill development, strategy, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and student-athletes. Organize and conduct practices, conditioning programs, and off-season training. Manage team logistics, including scheduling games, travel, and equipment inventory. Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all players and staff. Uphold and promote high standards of character, academic performance, and ethical conduct. Communicate regularly with parents, athletic department, and school administration. Ensure compliance with NCHSAA and Asheboro City Schools policies.
Qualifications:
Prior experience coaching baseball at the high school, collegiate, or club level required (head coaching experience preferred). Demonstrated knowledge of baseball strategy, rules, and player development. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members. Commitment to academic success, character development, and athletic integrity. Valid North Carolina teaching license (or eligibility) preferred if applying for a teaching role. Must meet all Asheboro City Schools coaching requirements and pass a background check.
