Job Description
Assistant Men’s Volleyball Coach The Assistant Men’s Volleyball Coach aids in the growth and development of the men’s
volleyball program and its student-athletes by assisting with the planning and direction
of team activities. The primary duty of the position is instructing student-athletes in the
skills and strategies unique to competition in the sport and recruiting. Candidate should have a successful background as a volleyball player and/or coach at
the NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA or club level;
- Thorough knowledge of the sport;
- Strong communication and organizational skills;
- Knowledge of NCAA and South
Atlantic Conference rules and regulations; - Ability to operate scouting,recruiting and
compliance/inter departmental organizational software and programs.
Some specific
duties will include: Promote the mission of Catawba College to all faculty, staff, students and to the
community at large
Engage in instruction of sport skills and strategies to develop student-athletes
athletically
Conduct/overseas student-athlete progress evaluation, individual workouts, and
study hall
Participate in the recruitment of student-athletes
Build relationships with high school and club programs nationwide
Assist the Head Coach in the overall operations of the program
Assist in all aspects of recruiting to include identification, evaluation and
recruitment of prospective student athletes that fit Lincoln Memorial University’s
athletic and academic standards
Assist Head Coach with the daily practice planning and implementation
Assist Head Coach with preparation for competition by game planning through
video breakdowns and other opponent assessment
Assist with the organization of team travel, fundraising and camps
Monitor and assist in academic progress of team, including study halls and social
development
Assist in maintaining uniforms, gear, equipment; assist in maintaining
relationships with vendors/accounts
Assist with home game facility set-up, staff assignments and supervision
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach

Founded in 1851 in Newton, North Carolina, Catawba was started by German pioneers who had traveled from eastern Pennsylvania to settle in the Haw, Yadkin, and Catawba Rivers valleys. In 1890, Catawba became a coeducational institution, and the first woman to graduate completed her studies in 1893.
