Coaching Position Summary:
This full-time position reports jointly to the Associate Director and the Head Baseball Coach. The role combines responsibilities in game and event operations-including oversight of varsity athletic events, recreational sports, and intramural activities-with coaching duties for the baseball program. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to providing a positive and competitive NCAA Division II experience for student-athletes. Essential Responsibilities and Position Accountabilities (Administrative):
- Coordinate and oversee comprehensive event setup and breakdown for selected on and off campus varsity athletic events, recreational sports and intramural activities.
- Provide assistance as directed with game operations such as parking, locker rooms, ticket staff, officials, and security.
- Serve as on-site facilities coordinator for selected outside user events.
- Coordinate ticket sales for all home athletic events (including conference and NCAA championships).
- Assist with scheduling student workers and staff for all home athletic events-Serve as primary game manager and/or athletic administrator at home athletic events as directed by Associate A.D.
- May assist with registration and scheduling of intramural sport leagues and teams.
- Schedule and supervise student staff and intramural contest officials.
- Coordination and maintenance of intramural and recreational facilities with the Associate A.D.
- Coordinate on-campus student promotional activities which engage and increase student involvement in recreational sports, intramurals, and overall health/wellness initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned including assistance with other sports primarily during your non-championship season.
- Evenings, weekends and administrative travel may be required. Essential Responsibilities and Position Accountabilities (Coaching):
- Provide leadership, organization, supervision for all practices and varsity contests in conjunction with head coach.
- Assist in organizing and implementing a successful recruiting program which attracts academically and athletically gifted prospects-with an unwavering commitment to retention, degree completion and academic success.
- Conduct all aspects of the program within the rules, regulations, and procedures of the NCAA, conference, athletic department policy manual and the College.
- Encourage and create an atmosphere of sportsmanship, professionalism and respect among the athletic staff, coaches and student-athletes.
- Commitment to student-athlete safety, welfare, physical, and mental health.
- Manage team needs within parameters of annual budget; review all budget requests and projected fiscal needs.
- Schedule all team travel, practices and contests in accordance with college policies, conference scheduling guidelines and NCAA bylaws (under direction of head coach).
- Review student-athlete eligibility requirements to ensure full compliance with governing rules and regulations.
- Maintain a positive and constructive working relationship with College and departmental staff to ensure an efficient and effective program.
- Maintain relationships with parents, alumni, friends of the program, and others toward the positive image and promotion of the program and College.
- Attend and participate in athletic department meetings and rules education sessions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Demonstrated excellence with interpersonal communications (written and oral) skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is necessary. Attention to detail and accuracy; customer service oriented and able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, coaches and student-athletes. Must be comfortable working in team environment with a positive attitude and sense of humor. Certifications, licenses, professional designations, or other qualifications required for this position include:
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record & successful completion of college van driving education class
