Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a 12-month, full-time position as Head Coach for its Men’s Soccer program. The Head Coach leads the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer program by recruiting and developing qualified student-athletes, supervising assistant coaches, and organizing schedules. The head coach must conduct the program in a manner that recognizes the primacy of academics by recruiting, supporting, and retaining student-athletes who will be competitive in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The head coach must ensure that the Men’s Soccer program operates in compliance with all University, MAAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement comprehensive training programs and structured practice schedules. Lead planning, coaching, and tactical execution with outfield players. Oversee operations budget and manage all related administrative paperwork. Administer scholarship allocation and maintain accurate scholarship records. Supervise coaching staff, including performance evaluations and development. Monitor academic progress, eligibility, and overall well-being of student-athletes. Recruit high-caliber student-athletes, including international prospects. Foster strong relationships with alumni and donors to support program growth. Develop and coordinate competitive game schedules for Fall and Spring seasons. Conduct regular player meetings, enforce team discipline, and provide performance evaluations. Ensure full compliance with NCAA conference, university policies and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years of full-time prior experience at the Division I level.
Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and create partnerships with a wide range of constituent groups.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Required to travel and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and keep specific timelines.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve.
Ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, administration, alumni, and community.
