Job Description
This 10-month position will be responsible for managing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division DIII Women’s Softball program, including but not limited to; recruiting, scouting, game preparation, budget development and management, team travel, fundraising, practices, game supervision, academic mentoring, and community service. This position will assist the Director of Athletics and Recreation with the long-term planning and development of the Women’s Softball program and an additional administrative area will also be assigned. The department of Athletics & Recreation subscribes to the philosophy that athletics complements the total education experience of our students. We allow multiple ways for students to compete or participate in a variety of quality athletic programs consistent with the overall educational mission of SUNY Plattsburgh. Bachelor’s degree at the time of appointment Collegiate coaching experience at the NCAA Division III level Demonstrated understanding of NCAA Rules and Regulations Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, organization, and relationship building CPR/AED certification will be required within one month of appointment A valid driver license at the time of appointment and the ability and willingness to drive fleet vehicles Willingness and ability to travel and perform evening and weekend work A demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and administrators
