The Position:

British Swim School of Buffalo is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team of Swim Instructors! A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and young adults employing our fun, gentle, and progressive methods. A key focus is placed on water survival skills. You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with swimmers of various skill levels. Having fun and engaging with our swimmers is an important part of the job!

Roles and Responsibilities:

Instruct swimmers of all ages and abilities using the British Swim School curriculum, while ensuring a safe and encouraging environment. Provide parents and guardians with constructive feedback on their child’s progress. Availability to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Perform duties in an environment with moderate to high noise levels and stand in water for up to four consecutive hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

Have a high school diploma, equivalent certification, or be currently pursuing one. Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational capabilities. Must have a positive attitude. Must be reliable, trustworthy, and punctual. Must be comfortable in and around water.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with children. Possess 1-2 years of swimming experience and demonstrate proficiency in the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. A minimum of one year of customer service experience is preferred Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred.
