Job Description
Assistant Coach – Baseball 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 720 Northern Blvd, Brookville, NY 11548 LIU is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join its NCAA Division I Men’s Baseball program as an Assistant Coach. This position, based on the Long Island campus, will work closely with the Head Coach to support all aspects of the program, including practice planning, game preparation, recruiting, player development, and day-today operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering a competitive and positive team culture, supporting student-athletes in their academic and athletic growth, and upholding the values and standards of LIU Athletics.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach in developing, planning, and implementing practice sessions and game strategies. Mentor and support student-athletes in both athletic and personal development. Recruit prospective student-athletes through on-campus visits, travel, and regular communication, in compliance with NCAA and NEC regulations. Coordinate video breakdown and analysis for scouting, game preparation, and player feedback. Monitor academic progress of student-athletes in collaboration with academic advisors. Maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA, NEC, and LIU policies to ensure full program compliance. Assist with team travel logistics, budgeting, equipment management, and other administrative duties. Represent LIU at conferences, meetings, and community events as assigned. Help foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable team environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level, preferably NCAA Division I. Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Demonstrated success in recruiting and player development. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
