Position Title Assistant Volleyball Coach Position Number 898112 Position Category Administration School/Division Women’s Volleyball (division) Department Full-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description Reporting to the Head Volleyball Coach, the Assistant Volleyball Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in ensuring the program’s success, particularly in the skill development and performance of student-athletes, as well as the recruitment, retention, and conduct of student-athletes. All staff members are expected to adhere to the policies, procedures, and guidelines of Hofstra University and fulfill the job responsibilities specific to the volleyball program. This position requires working weekends and holidays, as well as attending athletic events as appropriate. The Assistant Coach is also responsible for possessing knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Any individual found responsible for a violation of NCAA regulations will be subject to disciplinary or corrective action, including termination if appropriate. Additionally, the Assistant Coach may be held accountable for any act or omission that could result in the University being found in violation of NCAA regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assists with player development, including proper technique, advanced skill instruction, competition strategy, and team building. Assists with the evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes. Evaluates the performance, conduct, and abilities of individuals and groups as assigned by the head coach. Assists with the development and execution of program planning, contest preparation, scouting, film breakdown, practice sessions, game day activities, and coordination of game and practice schedules. Monitors and assists in assigned areas, including compliance forms (e.g., CARA logs), travel itineraries, strength and conditioning, camps and clinics, recruitment, admissions, academic pre-reads, NLIs, academic support, equipment, financial planning and budgeting, purchasing, and fundraising. Assists the head coach with game film analysis using platforms such as Volleymetrics and TeamXstream. Assists with public relations activities, community outreach programs, marketing and development initiatives, and alumni engagement. Performs other related duties as assigned by the head coach and/or athletic director. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Valid driver’s license. Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant coaching experience. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree preferred. Salary/Salary Range $46,000-$52,000 ($6,000 Annual Car Stipend) Additional Information Hofstra University provides the above salary• as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience and education.
