Job Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Be responsible for duties assigned by the Head Track & Field Coach.
Teach proper skills and techniques
Act professionally when communicating with players, coaches, media and individuals in the community.
Attend practices and meets as assigned by the Head Coach.
Be knowledgeable of the college’s policies and procedures on recruiting, academic programs and philosophy of athletic programs.
Have an operational understanding of National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules and requirements.
Assist Head Coach with recruiting qualified student-athletes to Onondaga Community College.
Understand that the Head Coach is responsible for dealing with vendors and fundraisers.
Be responsible for the players and assignments in the absence of the Head Coach.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency
Prior coaching experience in the sport, preferably at the secondary or post-secondary level; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
