Swim Instructor/Coach Eddie’s Swimming Flushing, NY 11367 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in competitive swimming and physical education. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to swimmers of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment while promoting water safety and swimming techniques. Responsibilities Conduct swim lessons for individuals and groups, adapting teaching methods to accommodate various skill levels. Assess students’ swimming abilities and progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills. Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate water safety, swimming techniques, and fun activities. Maintain a safe environment by enforcing pool rules and regulations. Communicate effectively with students and their parents regarding progress, concerns, and recommendations for improvement. Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills. Skills Proficient in swimming techniques with the ability to teach various strokes effectively. Experience in teaching physical education or related fields is highly desirable. Background in childcare or working with children is preferred. Knowledge of lifeguard practices is an asset. Familiarity with martial arts disciplines such as Judo or Karate can be beneficial for promoting discipline and focus among students. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to climb in and out of the pool area safely as required during lessons. A positive attitude with a passion for fitness activities such as Swimming or gym workouts can enhance engagement with students. Bilingual Speakers are a plus!
