Coaching Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Athletics Department at SUNY Potsdam is accepting on-line applications for an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach to assist the Head Coach with all facets of running a successful NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Program.

Required Qualifications:

: Bachelor’s degree
Ability to work nights and weekends
Possession of a valid driver’s license
We are seeking candidates who possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues and who have demonstrated a commitment to creating, fostering and sustaining an inclusive environment in and out of the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:

: Prior experience instructing and coaching, preferably at the collegiate level
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required
Computer and video editing skills strongly

Job:

Assistant coach must perform duties in compliance with all College, SUNYAC, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Major Areas of Responsibility/Primary Responsibilities:

Provide individual and team instruction to student-athletes on: Rules & fundamentals
Skill attainment
Techniques and methods required to demonstrate satisfactory performance in a safe manner
Team concepts
Provide individualized coaching/tutoring/mentoring to student-athletes, including preparatory work that includes:
Assessing student-athlete skill attainment demonstrated during practice, competition, and in films of both practice and competition
Reviewing video of opponent performance and subsequently designing individualized and team instruction for Potsdam student-athletes
Determining specific daily practice activities that will be conducted by student-athletes
Developing instruction for individual student-athletes and specific team needs
Collaborating with coach to develop annual goals for the program
