Description of Duties
The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applications for a Women’s Soccer Assistant Coach in the Athletics Department. This is a full-time, 10-month position beginning in July 2025.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organization, oral and written communication skills, and an appreciation for the philosophy of the NCAA Division III. Selected candidate will be expected to adhere to all institutional, SUNYAC and NCAA rules, policies and procedures.
Candidate must have strong time management skills, the ability to recruit and retain qualified and talented student athletes and a demonstrated commitment to students’ athletic and academic success. Candidate must be willing to work evenings and weekends. Capacity to be a visible and engaging leader as well as work collaboratively with others including but not limited to faculty, admissions and residence life.
In addition to a $9,000 salary, an on-campus meal plan is also included in job offer. There could be additional employment opportunities through the fitness and tutoring centers.
Responsibilities
Recruiting travel and Database management.
Assist in monitoring academic progress.
Assisting with practice planning.
Individual training and development.
Assisting with scouting and team video.
Running team social media accounts.
Other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree
Demonstrated effectiveness coaching and/or playing soccer.
Preferred:
Goalkeeping playing/coaching experience
Collegiate playing experience
The demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, and assist in retaining a diverse, inclusive, and successful program.
Experience with fundraising and alumni engagement.
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
