Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Jr. Knights About Us The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Jr. Knights are a premier youth hockey program based in northeastern Pennsylvania, committed to developing elite athletes on and off the ice. Since 2007, the program has competed at the highest levels within the USA Hockey structure, focusing on player development, advancement, and discipline. Our 18U AAA team competes in top showcases and is built to prepare players for junior and collegiate hockey. We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Coach for our 18U AAA team for the 2025-2026 season. This role requires living in the player dormitory and supporting daily player oversight, in addition to assisting with all on-ice and team activities. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of elite-level player development, a team-first mentality, and the maturity to support high school-aged athletes in a structured residential setting. Key Responsibilities Assist with on-ice practices, games, and tournament preparation Support individual skill development and team systems Attend all home and away games Live in the dormitory and help maintain structure, discipline, and player welfare Enforce curfews and serve as a daily role model for student-athletes Participate in team meetings, video review, and development planning Communicate effectively with coaching staff, players, and parents Qualifications USA Hockey Certification (Level 3+ preferred) Prior coaching experience at the AAA, junior, or prep level Strong knowledge of systems, player development, and 18U competition Must be organized, responsible, and comfortable in a live-in supervisory role Ability to travel with the team and work nights/weekends Must pass background checks and meet child safety requirements

Compensation:

Monthly coaching stipend (based on experience) Private dormitory housing included for duration of the season Travel expenses covered for team events and showcases
