Position Summary and Qualifications:
The Assistant Coach will be responsible for coaching and directing all aspects of the SJU Dance Team. The Team will perform at the Men’s and Women’s basketball games as well as dance team competitions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Recruit, instruct, and coach the student-athletes on the Dance Team Advise and guide the dancers into proper dance routines Determine individual and team strengths Develop strategies to maximize performance Ensure the appropriate safety precautions in practice, games, and travel Secondary Duties & Responsibilities Create choreography and teach routines to the dancers Remain current on the newest moves and dance styles being taught Oversee and direct out-of-season conditioning programs for the team Minimum Qualifications•
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree Previous experience coaching a dance team Extensive knowledge of dance routines and safety measures Previous experience in ballet, jazz, hip hop, pom, funk, and modern dance Minimum Qualifications•
Preferred:
Three years of coaching experience at the Collegiate Level Physical Requirements and/or
Unusual Work Hours:
