ESSENTIAL AND IMPORTANT DUTIES
Serve as a positive role model to the players and parents
Teach swim techniques, swim rules, strategies and swimming tactics
Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility
Preside over team activities including all scheduled team practices and swim meets
Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one’s team
Monitor swimmers personal conduct during meets
Manage equipment and swimming facilities in a responsible manner
Performs related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work well with children of various ages; extensive knowledge of swimming; Willingness to learn and adhere to the rules and regulations governed by the SCHSL; willingness to learn and follow District rules and guidelines; prior coaching experience is preferred.
Education/Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills to teach and coach swimming.
Working Conditions:
On a continuous basis, work indoors; intermittently travel to various off-site locations; may be exposed to dust, noise, hard surfaces, and may be exposed to varying temperature conditions while performing work.
