Job Duties:

The ES Performance Coach assesses coaching needs for the various Economic Services functional areas and for the TANF and SNAP assistance programs to ensure consistent application of polices and procedures statewide. This position develops coaching strategies and provides operational guidance based on findings from county assessments for new and experienced county staff. Responsible for monitoring the application of SNAP and TANF policies/procedures by conducting periodic comprehensive assessments of statewide county operations to ensure consistency, accountability, and alignment with state and federal requirements. County assessments include extensive and thorough

case reviews for all county staff, an entrance discussion with all staff to identify coaching needs/concerns, monitoring timeliness and SCOSA mailboxes, developing and maintaining coaching tools/materials, individual worker and supervisor observation/assessment, individual worker and supervisor coaching sessions, countywide training to address overall deficiencies, post-training case reviews, and exit discussion with staff. Responsible for assisting underperforming staff with more intensive coaching and monitoring during the review process. In addition to working directly with county staff and management, Performance Coaches are responsible for meeting frequently with the Economic Services Regional Senior Consultants to discuss areas of concern, improvement, and Human Resource issues. Provides technical assistance for underperforming workers, county managers, and administrative staff. Conducts statewide case reviews and data analysis for all counties in addition to case reviews completed during operational assessments. Submits reports detailing identified training needs, trainings provided, staff trained and recommendations for improvements, as appropriate. Conducts statewide trainings/coaching to address Management Evaluation and Quality Control finding and/or corrective action. Develops job aides for staff to utilize to ensure accurate application and comprehension of current policies/procedures, SCOSA, CHIP, and SCWINS Interview Documentation Tool. This includes updating and maintaining coaching guides, training modules, and hand-outs, as needed and required. Attends policy and procedure trainings and stays informed on

policies and procedures to stay informed of all changes. To ensure that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. To protect the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data. Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum and Additional Requirements A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of professional experience in social services programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience.
