Job Description
MHS Cheer Varsity Assistant Coach
The MHS cheer team is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and positive Varsity assistant coach. The desired qualities for the assistant coach will include:
Experience with college level cheer, preferred.
Prior experience coaching high school level cheer teams, preferred.
Willingness to serve and build relationships with student athletes
Ability to teach and refine a foundational skill set in student athletes; Develop skill set on JV team towards future competition level
Communicate clearly with all stakeholders in a variety of formats
Provide positive praise with support to develop a positive team culture.
Ability to work with others to develop a unified coaching staff across JV and Varsity
Duties will include:
Working as a collaborative team member to develop and implement daily practice plans to meet the overall goals of the program.
development of team building activities for JV and Varsity fundraising ideas and implementation; logistics and organization of the Summer, Football, and Basketball Cheer Clinics each year
community service organization and implementation
Purchase and maintenance of team apparel
attendance at all varsity football games
Attendance at JV football games and varsity Basketball games will be required on a rotational basis.
Plan Pep Rallies and School Wide Events involving the cheer team.
Attend all practices
Attend summer camps
Attend coaching conferences with other staff
Completing all coach trainings and requirements per TSSAA
