$47.8K – $65K a year 1 day ago Qualifications Sales Mid-level Bachelor’s degree 2 years Full Job Description The head coach will coordinate all aspects of Vanderbilt Athletics’ Spirit Program including cheer, dance, and mascot. These oversight responsibilities include but are not limited to, leading and organizing all practices, student-athlete development and academic progress of spirit squad members, and budget management. This person will be responsible for the selection process for all areas of spirit, directing and managing gameday duties/functions (both home and away football, and other home events), as well as community and campus appearances. As the head coach, this role will be expected to manage all components of the teams and units. Finally, this position will be expected to recruit and engage with potential spirit squad members, promote school spirit and involvement, while also publicly adhering to the brand of Vanderbilt University Athletics in all facets. The Head Coach will oversee all spirit squad members and part time coaches. There is the potential to hire a full-time assistant coach. This position will report directly to the Associate AD of Marketing and receive additional administrative support from the Senior Associate AD of Fan Experience and Sales. About the

Vanderbilt University’s Athletics Department prepares student-athletes to become leaders and champions in life by placing the highest values on integrity, character, sportsmanship and victory. Vanderbilt is a charter member of the Southeastern Conference and is the conference’s only private school. The university fields 17 varsity teams (6 men’s teams and 11 women’s teams). Duties and Responsibilities Lead and organize all practices Monitor student-athlete development and academic progress of spirit squad members Organization of spirit squad at all home and away football games, inclusive of football bowl travel, and other home events where the spirit squads are present Thoughtfully manage the spirit squad budget Coordinate and execute the selection process for all areas of spirit Direct and manage all gameday duties/functions of the program at football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and other sports as agreed upon Recruit and engage any potential spirit squad members, promote school spirit and involvement, and publicly adhering to Vanderbilt’s brand Coordinate and execute all appearance and revenue opportunities for the Spirit and mascot programs Engage with alumni of spirit program and help with fundraising for the program Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from accredited 4-year college is required 2 years of college coaching experience.
