Job Description
Reporting to the Head Basketball Coach, the Assistant Strength Coach for Men’s Basketball will be directly responsible for the strength and conditioning program within the Men’s Basketball program. Work cooperatively with the Men’s Basketball staff to develop and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes. Conduct physical screening/assessment of individual student-athletes and implement customized, corrective exercises. Maintain National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification & Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach certification (RSCC). Execute all duties and responsibilities within Lipscomb University, ASUN Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Work closely with Men’s Basketball staff, Strength and Conditioning staff, Athletic training staff and sports nutrition staff. Work cooperatively with the Athletic Training staff to support the injury prevention and/or rehabilitation of Lipscomb University student-athletes. Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, including weight machines and other strength and conditioning equipment, including regular inspection, recommendation on repair/replacement as necessary. Assist in managing, supervising and controlling the operation of the weight room. Familiarity with Kinexon or similar performance-improvement / injury-reduction technology preferred. Other duties as assigned are consistent with position and qualifications.
