Athletics – Coaching Job Description Assistant coach will support the head coach with all day-to-day activities to run the men’s basketball program including but not limited to facilitating practices, recruiting high quality student athletes and event day management. Responsibilities 60% Assistant coach will be expected to attend all team practices, conditioning and competitions for men’s basketball. Responsible for coordinating event day logistics. Ability to do maintenance tasks including but not limited to gym floor upkeep. All other duties as assigned including teaching activity courses (when applicable). 40% The assistant coach will be tasked with running sport specific tasks. Responsible for team study tables and academic progress. Responsible for team social media accounts. Assist the Head Coach in recruiting highly competitive student athletes that will thrive under the UT Southern culture that encompasses “WINNING” in the classroom, venue and in the community. Qualifications Knowledge and ability to explain/teach in the sport of basketball is a must. Ability to provide structure and mentorship to student-athletes.
