• Football Location Houston County Middle School Contract Duration Coaching contracts last for one school year, at which time they may be renewed by the building principal and/or athletic director.

Coaches are expected to perform their duties and schedule practices and contests in the best interests of the student-athletes, adhering to guidelines from relevant governing bodies. Compensation Supplemental contracts provide a percentage increase to the employee’s base salary. Contact the building principal or athletic director for specific percentages. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Must pass a background check Preferred Be a current certified teacher in good standing in the HCSD Possess relevant experience in the sport Other Requirements Be able to learn and follow all applicable policies from all relevant governing bodies under the supervision of the Head Coach Effectively and ethically liaison between the school district and students and guardians under the supervision of the Head Coach Establish and maintain high standards for academic achievement, attendance, and behavior for student-athletes Effectively coach and manage the team from a logistical, scheduling, and strategic perspective under the supervision of the Head Coach Why Coach in Houston County Empower studentathletes to discover lifelong habits of fitness, selfdiscipline, and resilience while modeling sportsmanship and integrity. Working closely with the head coach, you’ll craft training plans, cultivate a strong team culture, and enhance Houston County’s presence through sportsmanship and athletic achievement. Guide athletes toward activities and community-service projects that showcase their leadership beyond the sport. Houston County Middle School, a close-knit campus of roughly 300 students in Erin, Tennessee, is seeking a Middle School Assistant Baseball Coach to help lead our grades 6-8 baseball program. In this role, you will plan, organize, and implement comprehensive practice plans, conditioning sessions, and game strategies that align with the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association and district policies. You’ll collaborate with the athletic director, head coach, building principal, and fellow coaches to coordinate schedules, manage equipment, and ensure a safe and supportive environment. As the middle school coach, you will work with our high school coaching staff to develop a cohesive program that prepares student-athletes for high school baseball. You’ll engage with student-athletes, parents, and the broader school community through clear and consistent communication, promoting our school’s spirit at games and events.
