Environmental Science, Ecology, and Forestry; +1 Agricultural Extension Job Summary The College of Agriculture, Environment and Nutrition Sciences (CAENS) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences in Forestry. The appointment will have teaching responsibilities with research and/or extension responsibilities. Non-Tenured Track Essential Job Duties
Teach courses in areas associated with forestry.
Provide leadership in Forestry related research and extension programs working with socially and historically disadvantaged farmers in Alabama particularly, the Black Belt Region exploring innovative practices related to current as well as new crops, with environmental, social, and economic sustainability as important measures of success.
Collaborate with colleagues in forestry, plant science, entomology, soil science, horticulture, ecology, biotechnology, wildlife biology, and resource economics, among other related disciplines, especially those associated with natural resources.
Participate in student advisement, curriculum development, student activities and collegewide committees.
Pursue creative, scholarly and professional activities at all appropriate levels including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Work closely with undergraduate and graduate students within the college and other stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Forestry (or related area) or a closely related field, such as plant/soil sciences, with relevant coursework in forestry.
Relevant professional experience.
Record of successful teaching demonstrated scholarship.
University-level teaching experience is also preferred

Full-Time Skills and Attributes Knowledge:

Professional experience in computer program software related to the field of Forestry (or related area) preferred, including developing technologies associated with big data analysis.
A proven record of grant application experience and industry support for educational initiatives is preferred.

Ability:

Ability to work independently and on a team.
Record of peer-reviewed publications (journal articles, technical documents, etc.)
