AUM College of Nursing and Health Sciences department of Communication Disorders is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure track faculty position. This position will be supporting a graduate program in speech-language pathology, that is currently seeking candidacy with an anticipated enrollment date of 2025. Doctorate degree required. Recent clinical experience and teaching experience desired. This individual in this position reports to the Department Chair of Communication Disorders (CMDS)
Candidates must have an earned research doctorate degree in Speech Language Pathology, Speech and Hearing Science, or related field (Ph.D. preferred). A.B.D. candidates are eligible, but all degree requirements must be completed by June 1, 2025. Candidates must show evidence of the ability to develop a research program, potential for excellence in teaching, and a commitment to university, community, and professional service. CCC-SLP from ASHA and eligibility to be a licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of Alabama required. Some undergraduate teaching may be needed.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Classroom and clinical instruction in the undergraduate program in accordance with the needs of the department
Developing and maintaining a program of research in the candidate’s area of expertise
Participation in clinical, departmental, and university service
Demonstrated ability and potential for professional growth
The successful candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge and insights gained from the exploration of his/her area of specialization.
Ability to communicate to professional peers.
Ability to perform successfully the professional duties assigned.
Ability to demonstrate academic ability and potential for professional growth.
Teaching will be face to face and/or online.
