Job Description Alabama State University, Academic Affairs/College of Education,Curriculum and Instruction, invites application for an Assistant/Associate Professor. This is a full-time tenure track position. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in elementary education within the department of Curriculum and Instructions, advise students, supervise candidates in field placements and internships, publish in field related refereed journals, present at conferences and workshops, and serve on department, college, and university committees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the department chairperson in formulating and administering instruction and curriculum policies
Transmit course objectives and program reports to the appropriate department chairperson
Ensure students enrolled in the elementary education programs are receiving proper academic advising
Collaborate with the P-12 community
Provide community service in the P-12 settings
Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications An earned doctorate degree in elementary education or curriculum and instruction with 30 graduate credit hours in elementary education, 3 years of full-time public school teaching experience in a K-6 setting, and have strong written and oral communication skills. It is to be noted that for the purpose of continuous improvement of faculty qualifications as faculty members complete advanced degrees, certifications, licenses, etc., the faculty member will send official documentation, within 45 days of hire, to the Office of Human Resources, and the credentialing file in Academic Affairs.
