Position Vacancy Announcement Florida A&M University’s Department of Nursing is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Assistant Professor vacancy. This is an in-person position. Responsibilities A professional nurse who has the concomitant responsibility for the coordination of learning activities, development of course content, and assisting students in the teaching/learning process. Assists in the counseling and guidance of students, conducting theory classes and/or clinical laboratory sessions as assigned for medical-surgical, pediatric, women’s health, mental health, community health and general nursing courses.
Note:
Course assignments can be at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Develops and delivers engaging undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses in women’s health, medical-surgical, pediatrics, mental health. Employ innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning and engagement; Conducts and publishes research in nursing or related fields. Secure external funding to support research activities. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences; Participates in departmental, college, and university service through committee work, participation in curriculum development, and involvement in community outreach initiatives; and provides academic and professional guidance to nursing students, fostering their development. Minimum Qualifications Academic doctorate (Ph.D., DNP, EdD) or highest level terminal degree from an accredited institution. Current active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license; or licensed in another state with eligibility to obtain FL licensure within 30 days of hire. Current clinical experience along with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Licenses and Certifications Valid State/Multi-State RN License Required. Pay Plan This is a Faculty position. Conditions of Employment Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
