The OpportunityThe College of Optics and Photonics at theUniversity of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a9-month, full-time faculty position at the rank of assistantprofessor (tenure-earning), or associate professor or professor(tenured) in the area of space photonics. Topics of interestinclude but are not limited to: astrophotonics; space domainawareness; remote sensing; space-based quantum sensors;space-to-ground and space-to-space communications; and space-basedphotonic devices. This search is tied to a substantial investmentby UCF in its Space and Planetary Instrumentation,Commercialization, and Exploration (SPICE) initiative, incollaboration with the Florida Space Institute, Department ofPhysics, and other UCF units. This includes the establishment of adedicated Space Photonics Research Laboratory, a related SpacePhotonics Undergraduate Teaching Laboratory, and a planned lecturerhire (in addition to this current tenure track search).Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to establish a top-quality,vigorous, highly visible research program, teach and mentorgraduate and undergraduate students, and contribute to service inthe institution and profession.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. from an accreditedinstitution in optics or a closely related discipline at the timeof appointment. Applicants must demonstrate strong researchexperience with a high record of scholarly publications.
To obtaintenure upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstratedrecord of teaching, research, and service commensurate with atenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor orprofessor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience inphotonic instrumentation and research, particularly related tospace applications and high record of funding.
