Job Summary The Assistant Professor of Management is a full-time academic position within the Business School, a department in a historically black university (HBCU), primarily responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in management-related subjects. This position includes active participation in curriculum development, departmental and university service, scholarly research, and community engagement. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record or potential for scholarly publications and a commitment to teaching excellence and student success. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Responsibilities Teach a 4/4 or 5/5 course load, depending on the level and nature of courses taught (undergraduate or graduate). Deliver high-quality instruction in both face-to-face and online formats. Engage in scholarly activities leading to peer-reviewed publications and/or applied research. Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work and student recruitment initiatives. Contribute to the mission of the university, including support for a diverse and inclusive academic environment. Required Qualifications Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management, Business Administration, Strategy, or a closely related field (ABD candidates nearing completion will be considered). Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate level. Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse student populations, including first-generation college students and historically underrepresented groups. Potential for scholarly productivity and academic contributions in the field of management. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching courses such as Introduction to Business, Organizational Behavior, and Business Strategy. Evidence of curriculum development and innovative teaching practices. Experience working in or with historically underrepresented or underserved communities.
