Job Description:

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Berry College invites applications for three Visiting Assistant Professor positions in mathematics, beginning in August 2025 and lasting through May 2027. These positions will focus on teaching introductory courses in mathematics and statistics. Successful candidates will be especially interested in engaging students from various disciplines. The department is dedicated to innovative pedagogy through active learning methods and mentoring students from a wide range of backgrounds. Candidates should share our department’s commitment to student engagement inside and outside the classroom and demonstrate aptitude and enthusiasm for student-centered teaching, consistent with research-based pedagogies, in a residential college environment. Beyond high-quality teaching, the successful candidate should also be an active participant in the life of the department. The candidate will be supported by the college in applying for Project NExT or other professional development programs. The primary duties of this position include teaching courses that serve a broad cross-section of the campus community, either as required courses of majors or as part of Foundations (general education) offerings.

Requirements:

Applicants with a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related discipline are preferred; applicants with a master’s degree in mathematics and significant collegiate teaching experience will be considered.
