Position # 40089976 The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University seeks a full-time, non-tenure track faculty member in the Department of Endodontics at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. This position requires the applicant to teach predoctoral endodontics (simulation laboratory, didactic (classroom/seminar and clinic as well as assist in teaching postgraduate endodontics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the faculty practice.

KNOWLEDGE

Provides information sharing to ensure that patients and families receive timely, complete and accurate information in order to effectively participate in care and decision making. Knowledge in policy and undergraduate program development, implementation, and delivery of care. SKILLS Clinical and didactic teaching exp. in both pre/post doctoral endo courses. Responsibilities Teaching

  • 50 % Predoctoral and postdoctoral didactic and clinical teaching in Endodontics. Help covering residents Clinical/Patient Care
  • 20 % Evaluation and treatment of patients referred to the Department of Endodontics by DCG faculty practice or private practitioners. Research/Scholarship
  • 20 % Research within the scope of the specialty of Endodontics Service
  • 10 % Participate in continuing education activities organized by the Department of Endodontics and at the national/international level.

Involved in service committees within the Dental College of GA. Required Qualifications Qualified candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent, and must have a specialty certificate in Endodontics as of July 1, 2025. They must have completed advanced training in a CODA approved endodontics program. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the state of Georgia or possess at least a teaching license approved by the Georgia Board of Dentistry to practice clinical endodontics and teach predoctoral and postdoctoral clinic. Assistant Professor

  • Early level career as a faculty member with background, education, and training consistent with the following position requirements. Associate Professor
  • Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor with background, education, and training consistent with the following position requirements. Professor
  • Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor with background, education, and training consistent with the following position requirements.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be: Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)’s requirements for institutional accreditation; Evidence of ability as a teacher; Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned; Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and, Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations. Preferred Qualifications Masters or PhD degree in materials science or molecular biology is preferred. PhD is highly preferred. Experience in teaching, practice, and research related to Endodontics. Record of publication and scholarship. Energetic applicants with a positive attitude towards teaching and a desire to develop and advance in a career in dental education are preferred.
