College of Arts & Sciences – West Point, GA Point University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Communication in the College of Arts and Sciences. Housed in the Department of Humanities, the B. S. degree in
Communication is offered on-ground at our West Point campus. This degree program equips students to serve as professional communicators in a variety of ministry and marketplace settings, developing a broad base of skills in oral, written, and visual communication. In addition, some of the communication curricula serve all
Point students in the general education core. Preferably, this faculty appointment would begin in the 2025- 2026 academic year.
Expectations
Candidates will have a graduate degree in Communication (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the field); an earned doctorate is preferred but not required. Our new colleague will primarily instruct students who have chosen to enroll in a traditional, residential experience at our West Point, GA campus, but there will also be some expectation to serve our online student population. Primary teaching responsibilities will include
Public Speaking, Business Communication, and Interpersonal Communication. The candidate should also be able to teach Organizational Communication, Introduction to Mass Communication, and Media Writing. The ability to design new courses in the Communication curriculum would be a plus.

Christian setting, including agreement with the University’s mission and goals, values, and doctrinal statement. As an educator, a commitment to student-centered pedagogy is desired for residential and virtual students, and growth in this skillset is fostered and encouraged.
