Description:

Mechanical Engineering Tenure-Track Faculty Position at Tulane Tulane University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in mechanical engineering. Our department is pursuing interdisciplinary excellence through integrating physics and core engineering disciplines. We seek to substantially grow our mechanical engineering program in coming years, including the launch of a minor in Mechanical Engineering alongside our established Engineering Physics undergraduate major and Materials Physics & Engineering PhD program. As a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU), Tulane is committed to research and education at the highest levels. We are also searching for a Professor of Practice teaching faculty position this year. For the tenure track position, preference will be given to applicants with a strong record of experimental mechanical engineering research in areas such as, but not limited to: energy, manufacturing, materials, mechanics, and robotics. We prioritize interdisciplinary research and teaching with other faculty in our School of Science and Engineering, as well as other Schools at Tulane. The new faculty member will have the opportunity to participate in the expansion of core user facilities in the new Paul Hall, including a new Tulane Micro/Nanofabrication Facility. Applicants must have a doctorate in mechanical engineering or a related field, postdoctoral or comparable experience, demonstrated success in research, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship.
