The Department of Communication and Media Studies at Southeastern Louisiana University invites applications for two (2) tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. We seek dynamic teacher-scholars with expertise in Strategic Communication and digital media, with a strong understanding of how these tools function inmercial contexts. Candidates should be well-versed in social media, content marketing, and data analytics, and prepared to train students to be strategicmunicators and content creators for industry.
As part of an applied program focused on career readiness, the successful candidates will demonstrate amitment to excellence in online, asynchronous instruction, and maintain active engagement with industry partners to bring current trends and best practices into the classroom.
Faculty will teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to Strategic Communication, preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach in one or more of the following areas: Web Design, Podcasting, Audio Production, Persuasion, Public Relations, Communication Theory, and/or Research.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. in Communication by time of appointment
Demonstrated proficiency in social media, digital advertising, content marketing, and data analytics
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Experience teaching in a variety of delivery formats, including 100% asynchronous online, hybrid, and face-to-face modalities
Ability to effectively engage with both undergraduate and graduate students
Experience teaching in one or more of the following areas: Web Design, Podcasting, Audio Production, Persuasion, Public Relations, Communication Theory, and/or Research
