Summary of Job Duties:
This is a 9-month tenure-track 100% appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the School of Human Environmental Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department’s mission of integrating research, teaching, and service.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate in Human Development and Family Sciences or a closely related field by the time of appointment from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment
Ability to develop a sustained record of scholarly work in Families and Health
Experience teaching at an accredited institution of higher education
Ability to teach and develop HDFS courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated research expertise in areas of families and health such as lifespan development and well-being; social determinants of health in family contexts; parenting and child/adolescent health outcomes; aging, caregiving, and intergenerational family systems; or mental health and family resilience
One year teaching experience at at a higher education institution
Demonstrated ability to manage extramurally funded research programs in Families and Health
Experience with online and face-to-face teaching formats
Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
