Position Summary:
Teaching in the management discipline at the undergraduate and graduate levels; providing service to the department, school, and university; to be active in their field both within the academy and the business community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaches management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Teaches courses on Main Campus, at the Raleigh Campus, and online
Be the Course Leader in
BADM 236
Business Communication
Coordinate activities leading to student professional development
Formally advises students
Stays current in the management discipline and crafts new courses reflecting issues facing management in today’s business environment
Takes a leadership role in developing and growing the Management major
Encourages Management majors to participate in external events, competitions, and internships
Works closely with the LFSB Director of Career Services to prepare students for internships and permanent positions, as well as takes the lead in cultivating prospective employers
Designs and delivers professional development offerings to the business community
Actively participates in LFSB programs, events, and activities
Education/Experience:
Master’s degree in business-related field; Ph.D. in Management or Marketing desired.
Experience in teaching at the university level, including online delivery
Experience in the private business sector desired
Experience in delivering professional education programs desired
Active in academic research, with an identifiable research stream desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to deliver a variety of management discipline courses
Ability to conduct training is management issues to business community
Strong affinity and commitment to student engagement
Interest and skills for ing technology to management discipline
Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
Experience as manager in a corporate, governmental, or non-profit context
Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, respect, and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
