The Department of Government and Justice Studies (GJS) is home to over 800 undergraduate students, and over 70 graduate students. We have 30 full-time tenure-track faculty who range in areas of expertise and are amongst the most honored teachers at Appalachian State University. The teaching load is 3 courses per semester for faculty with an active research agenda. Teaching assignments will be predominantly face-to-face to serve Appalachian State’s Boone Campus. However, opportunities for instruction at App State’s Hickory campus, or online instruction may be available depending on program need.
