Assistant/Associate Professor of Education Position Purpose The successful candidate will be a scholar-practitioner with a passion for teaching, a commitment to inclusive education, and a dedication to preparing students to be effective, reflective, and ethical educators. The position will involve teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Teacher Education, advising students, engaging in scholarship and professional development, and contributing to the continued development and growth of the program. Essential Duties Summary Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Teacher Education. Supervise and mentor students in field placements and the culminating field experiences. Advise students in their academic and professional development, ensuring alignment with licensure requirements and career goals. Engage in scholarly research and professional development contributes to the advancement of the Teacher Education program. Collaborate with faculty in the Education department and other academic departments to develop interdisciplinary teaching strategies and initiatives. Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and program assessment. Contribute to college-wide initiatives, including diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Support the development of K-12 partnerships. Engage in service to the college, department, and community, including committee work, student recruitment, and professional organizations. Required Qualifications Education/Licensure Ph.D. or Ed.
D. in Education Current New Hampshire State Educator license Experience Experience teaching in K-12 settings. A strong record for teaching excellence at the undergraduate/graduate levels in a liberal arts context. Knowledge and experience in teacher preparation, curriculum design, and classroom assessment. Experience with or a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary teaching and collaboration. Ability to mentor and advise students effectively and with cultural competence. A record of commitment to scholarly research in the field of education. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience Experience with accreditation processes and program assessment. Principal licensure Skills and Knowledge Familiarity with current trends in education, such as technology integration and culturally responsive teaching. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
