D Production:
Hard Surface Modeling. This undergraduate course introduces students to Maya 3D with an emphasis on professional hard-surface modeling workflows for animation, games, motion graphics, and VFX. The instructor will guide students through core Maya modules, polygonal modeling tools, and UV/texturing workflows. Lessons emphasize real-world application, creative iteration, and technical precision in developing both realistic and stylized models. Class sessions will combine demonstrations, critiques, and structured modeling challenges to build students’ creative and technical skills. The course culminates in a portfolio-ready final project. Faculty are expected to provide in-depth feedback, support skill development, and foster a professional studio learning environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in 3D Animation, Game Design, Digital Art, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
5+ years of professional experience in 3D production or hard-surface modeling (e.g., games, film/TV, motion design).
Expert-level knowledge of Autodesk Maya and polygonal modeling workflows.
Familiarity with UV layout, basic texturing, rendering, and animation setup.
Solid understanding of clean topology and real-time asset optimization.
Experience producing client-facing or published work in a production pipeline.
Prior teaching, mentoring, or training experience strongly preferred.

Adjunct Faculty offered hourly rate is contingent on applicable rank. Minimum Salary USD $97.00/Hr. Maximum Salary USD $106.00/Hr.
