The Department of Family and Community Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (HS).

The successful candidate will:

Devote full-time effort to direct patient care in the clinic (outpatient) and inpatient settings.

Provide six sessions a week (three days) of direct patient care at our Empire location and provide teaching and supervision of residents and medical students four sessions (two days) a week, while participating in the department’s inpatient service.

Contribute to the growth and revenue of Family and Community Medicine at Empire; our goal is to increase visit volume to 15,000.As the clinician, solely dedicated to clinical care will increase UHD patient volume, patient panels, access and revenue.

Supervise resident and medical student clinical care and provide direct patient care, which will give our patients the option of seeing a physician outside of the teaching physician setting.

Help to maintain our quality metrics, value-based revenue programs and improve patient experience.

Required Qualifications:

New York State Medical License (DO/MD).Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine or by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.

Ongoing clinical activity.

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
