The Department of Elementary Special Education at Providence College in Providence, RI, invites applications for a one-year position as a visiting assistant professormencing in August, 2025.

The department has teaching needs:

elementary literacy, language arts and social studies and specialized instruction for neurodiverse students. Each of these methods classes includes practicum field experiences. We seek outstanding candidates who aremitted to inclusive practices, reading science.

This position includes the following expectations:
This candidate will be expected to teach: two section of Teaching Literacy in the Elementary Schools (4 credits each), one section of

Literacy II:

Language Arts and Social Studies (4 credits), one section of Specialized Instruction (4 credits), supervise student teachers to fulfill an 18 credit load across the year. Supervise the course embedded weekly practicums in local schools, providing guidance and feedback
Classes are held in person, during the day
Education and Experience
A Master’s in Education and elementary teaching experience is required for this position. Undergraduate teaching experience preferred
