Clemson University’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management (PRTM) seeks applicants for a nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Tourism and Events Management (TEM). This position is available starting in August 2025 and is located on the campus of Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. We seek a faculty member who will continue TEM’s excellence in research and teaching and contribute to further growth and development of our field. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching and research interests and experience in one or more of the following TEM areas: special event management, sport tourism and events, community tourism development, and international tourism and events. The successful candidate must have the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Tourism and Events Management emphasis area. The ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses online is also an asset. The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate with faculty across the PRTM department, College of Behavioral, Social, and Health Sciences, and broader university, conduct relevant research and publish frequently in scholarly journals, seek and secure external funding, contribute to the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, explore opportunities for program development, advise and mentor graduate students through theses and dissertations, engage in departmental, college, and University service, and carry out other departmental duties as required. Minimum qualifications: Earned doctorate in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management or related field Evidence of an established or emerging area of research related to tourism and event management Evidence of the ability to teach at the university level, including online (synchronous and asynchronous) Evidence of related experience in the tourism and events field Experience serving diverse audiences and awareness of student engagement Application Instructions
