Description:
The Biology Department at Allen University seeks a dynamic educator and researcher for the role of Assistant Professor of Biology. This position is instrumental in advancing undergraduate education in Biology and Biochemistry and fostering significant undergraduate research projects. The Assistant Professor reports to the Department Chair and the Dean for the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
Duties:
The Assistant Professor’s responsibilities encompass a blend of academic and administrative roles.
Key duties include:
Deliver undergraduate courses in both Biology and Biochemistry, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies.
Initiate, develop, and oversee undergraduate research projects, ensuring meaningful investigative experiences for students.
Engage in scholarly activities, advancing academic discourse and knowledge in Biology and Biochemistry.
Collaborate actively with departmental and interdisciplinary teams to enhance curricula and research environments.
Mentor and guide students academically, fostering their growth and career aspirations.
Ensure alignment of course content with departmental goals, objectives, and student learning outcomes.
Actively participate in departmental meetings, committees, and university-wide initiatives.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair or the Dean.

Qualifications:
PhD in Biology or Biochemistry or a closely related field.
Demonstrated excellence or potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching.
