PROFESSOR OF ECONOMICS

Allen University, located in Columbia, South Carolina, continues to evolve into a premier Historically
Black College and University (HBCU). We seek dedicated faculty to pursue “all that can be imagined.”
Allen University is looking for candidates to fill full-time positions at the rank of Assistant Professor of
Economics starting in Fall 2025.

PREFERRED AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

A doctorate in Economics or a related field is required by August 1, 2025. A.B.D. applicants are also
encouraged to apply.

Minimum qualification:

a master’s degree in economics or a master’s degree with
eighteen graduate semester hours from a regionally accredited educational institution.

Experience:

Applied or practical work experience is preferred; one or more years of successful teaching experience
are required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Experience in online teaching, as well as training and/or certification, is also necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative and student-centered instruction.
  • Demonstrated evidence of teaching, research, and university service.
  • Demonstrated evidence of integrating technology into courses to engage a diverse range of
    learners.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with students to facilitate their progress in completing their
    degree.
