Monthly Job Description Tennessee State University Department of Human Sciences invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor-Nutrition.
This is a tenure track, 12-month extension faculty position with affiliation to the Department of Human Sciences. This position provides human nutrition leadership in conducting applied research and transferring the nutrition related specific knowledge to the public as needed. Secures external grants and teaches courses for graduate and undergraduate students as needed. Publish professional, peer-reviewed articles in relevant media and prestigious journals. Minimum Qualifications An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in human nutrition, public health, or a closely related field at the time of appointment; Demonstrated potential to secure external grants from federal or other agencies; Evidence of published peer-reviewed articles in relevant media and quality journals; Ability to mentor undergraduate/graduate students in community nutrition; Demonstrated ability to communicate, interact, and collaborate with colleagues and community partners; Ability to travel, including overnight stays and occasional weekends; registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) credentialing is required. 1-3 years of Teaching/Research/Extension experience is preferred.
