Job Description
The University of Tennessee Southern enthusiastically invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity (Tenure-Track) in the School of Math and Science. Reporting to the Chair of the School of Math and Science, this person will teach courses, advise and mentor students, engage in scholarship, and provide service to the university and community. This is a full-time, in-person position beginning in August 2025.

Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach a full load of courses (12 hours) determined by the School Chair;
Engage in scholarship appropriate to the disciplines in the School of Math and Science;
Provide meaningful service to the university and surrounding community;
Mentor and advise students;
Teach courses in Cybersecurity and Computer Science
Establish productive student-oriented projects.
Assist in the development of new courses and possible revisions of older courses.
Develop online versions of courses.
Serve on University, School, and Program committees.
Contribute to the growth and development of the program through recruiting and advising efforts.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related discipline or ABD; all degree requirements for Ph.D. must be complete by the date of hire.
Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the community.
Evidence of good character, mature attitude, and professional integrity.
Expertise in Cybersecurity or in areas of Computer Science related to Cybersecurity
A background search will be required of the successful applicant.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in Wireless Networking, Cryptography, Mobile App Programming, Reverse Engineering, Digital Forensics, or Network Security.
Salary Range:
$55,000-$65,000
