Position Summary The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Teaching beginning Fall 2025. This is an instructor position in Mathematics and not a position in Mathematics Education. The title reflects the university’s growing commitment to faculty fully devoted to instruction, allowing them the chance to later achieve further levels of promotion as Associate and then Full Professors of Teaching as they continue their work at the university.
Applicants must have either a PhD in Mathematical Sciences or a minimum of a master’s degree in mathematical sciences or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the university level and a strong commitment to lower division undergraduate instruction. Experience with MyMathLab or WebAssign software and NCAT redesign methods is preferred. Candidates able to support the mathematics graduate program by teaching graduate courses (6000 level or higher) are especially encouraged to . Normal duties will include teaching 4 courses per semester (12 credit hours), including pure mathematics courses (particularly General Education courses), and assisting with other aspects of the instructional program, such as serving on departmental committees and advising students.
