Position Summary The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Memphis (memphis/csd ) is one of the leading academic and clinical programs in the country. The School and the Memphis Speech and Hearing Center reside in a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility on the University’s Park Avenue Campus.
This 12-month non-tenure track position is ideal for a strong, innovative clinician whose focus area is in pediatric audiology and who will provide clinical education in an academic setting. Applicants are expected to collaborate on research and service with clinical and academic faculty. The candidate is expected to be instrumental in the development of the pediatric cochlear implant program. This is a grant/limited-funded position with funding secured for three years, with the possibility of extension. Those with experience providing cochlear implant services, electrophysiological diagnostic evaluations, and/or auditory processing disorder evaluations are strongly encouraged to .
Minimum Position Qualifications AuD or PhD in audiology
Tennessee state licensure in audiology
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
At least 2 years of post-graduate experience
Completed at least .2 ASHA continuing education units (CEUs) (2 hours) in the area of clinical education, and .1 CEU (1 hour) in the area of ethics obtained within the past credentialing period. If this is not available, SCSD will assist with an independent study for ASHA CE credit.
